Baltimore’s Premier Radon Testing Service

Although radon is a naturally occurring gas in our environment, it’s also the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths in the U.S. The Surgeon General and the Environmental Protection Agency recommend testing for radon because one out of 15 homes has unsafe levels indoors. Millions of Americans have had their homes tested, and you should, too.

We provide radon testing services for realtors and homeowners. The only way to know the radon levels in your home or office is to have it tested – let us help! We provide both short-term and long-term testing. We specialize in testing for real estate transactions and corporate relocations.

We offer fast – usually same-day – service for placing the test, that includes a full report, on-site if necessary, and always emailed to you from our short-term continuous monitor testing machines upon the completion of the test. We also offer canister kits for homeowners to test their homes.

We also provide long-term testing with an alpha tracker system. We follow standards and methods that have been established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for all of our radon testing services.

Our radon testing services include:

  • Specializing in radon testing for real estate transactions and corporate relocations
  • Independent testing following installation of a mitigation system
  • Long-term alpha tracker testing
  • Homeowner kits – canister offers
  • Radon testing for Commercial buildings

Short-term Testing

The quickest way to test is with short-term tests. Short-term tests remain in your home from two to 90 days, depending on the device. There are two groups of devices which are more commonly used for short-term testing. The active device group includes continuous monitors. The passive device group includes alpha track detectors and charcoal canisters.

 Active Devices

Active radon testing devices require power to function. These include continuous radon monitors. They continuously measure and record the amount of radon or its decay products in the air. Our Sun Nuclear continuous radon monitors provide a report including hourly readings of radon levels which can reveal any unusual or abnormal swings in the radon level during the test period. Our devices are specifically designed to deter and detect test interference. These tests may ensure a more reliable result as compared to tests completed with passive devices.

Passive Devices

Passive radon testing devices do not need power to function. These include charcoal canisters and alpha-track detectors. These devices are exposed to the air in the home for a specified period of time and then set to a laboratory for analysis.

Long-Term Testing

Long-term tests remain in your home for more than 90 days. Alpha track detectors are used for this type of testing. A long-term test result is more likely to tell you your home’s year-round average radon level than a short-term test. If time permits (more than 90 days), long-term tests can be used to confirm initial short-term results.

Baltimore’s Premier Radon Testing Service

To the untrained eye, many features of the home appear normal and sound; damage may not be immediately apparent. The inspectors at Property Inspection Pros skillfully and thoroughly inspect and assess the structural components and systems inside and out of the home, from foundation to roof.

Our friendly, competent inspectors describe and explain every stage of the inspection and encourage questions to enhance and ensure your comprehension throughout the process. Your inspector will evaluate every accessible and visible feature of the home, including:
